Community Center

I conducted extensive research on refugees and asylum applications in The Netherlands. This has given me insight into some of the most common countries of origin like Syria, Turkey and Yemen. I have developed a design specifically tailored to the cultural and social backgrounds of the refugees, aiming to provide an inclusive and supportive experience that can improve the lives of asylum seekers and local residents and create a place where not only asylum seekers but also residents can feel at home.

The community center aims to bring together asylum seekers and local residents. The center is divided into three parts: the library, reception, and workspaces on the left. The open space in the middle, and the dining hall with kitchen and marketplace on the right. With this layout, I have tried to incorporate the principles of activity and tranquility in one building.
